Electronic Worlds

What do you think will happen when science and technology can't really be developed any further, since it is changing so rapidly now, or do you think we will ever get to that point?

  1. As a short term effect, I think our economy would collapse much like the telecom bust of 2000. But since our society runs based off of infinite growth, science and technology would be replaced with another form of infinite growth and exploration. What this new development will be remains to be unanswered. Although who is to say technology will die out. Is it possible for technology to go on forever? I could easily see it go on forever. Technology 100 years from now may become unfamiliar to us as we know it today. Already within the past one hundred years technology has gone from the invention of the mass produced consumer goods to now the iPhone as we discussed in class on Wednesday. I even see technology becoming more healthcare based in the not so distant future. After all, people don't stop dying. So as a closing statement I would say no! technology will never die off, but rather mutate into an almost unrecognizable form as we know today.

  2. I agree with what you are saying...how it will mutate forms, but always continue to develop. I just wonder how developed can we possibly make a phone, or a computer. It blows my mind to think that we could possibly always find a way to keep evolving these things.
